The acquisition of Olympus's lab-based diagnostics business by Beckman Coulter was closed on 3rd August 2009. We are convinced the combination of these two strong partners will create a world leading company in clinical diagnostics with special strength in chemistry and automated laboratory systems. How does this change impact on our customers?

First of all you will benefit from a broader product portfolio making it even easier to set up and run your lab. Putting together the best in clinical chemistry and immunoassay we are able to offer high quality solutions to meet your analytical  needs. Additionally, our complementary automation product lines can significantly improve laboratory productivity.  We also offer many more products to complete your requirements for an efficient diagnostics laboratory.

Some changes have been made to the former Olympus product portfolio. The well established OLA automation platforms will be renamed as AutoMate 1200/2500 and AutoMate 1250/2550. The immunoassay analyser AU3000i has been discontinued and will be replaced by UniCel DxI 600/800. Our sales representatives are working closely with all existing AU3000i customers to transition a replacement of their systems. Customers in all countries will be offered the information system REMISOL Advance* Data Manager which efficiently links all Beckman Coulter lab automation solutions. In the UK, the data management software dataWizard will continue to be supported, next to REMISOL Advance*.
